Our Story
Yonah Yoga was founded in 2017 by Charlene Hammersen-Peeples & started off as Pop-Up Yoga Studio. Yonah Yoga classes could be found anywhere a yoga mat could be laid but mainly at the Sautee Community Center along with other local businesses like Sweetwater Coffeehouse, Cenita Winery, Cleveland MMA, Valhalla Resort. As the interest for yoga began to grow in the area, Charlene found it was time to find a brick & mortar in the Sautee Nacoochee Valley. Yonah Yoga began to grow a beautiful community where folks would meet one another, create friendships & bonds. However, a few months after the Covid-19 Pandemic, Yonah Yoga was forced to shut it's doors in September 2020.

Yonah Yoga eventually went back to teaching at local areas, along with private sessions. In October of 2023, we've decided to reopen our physical doors to the community! We are looking forward to seeing familiar & new faces! At Yonah Yoga, we want to offer a place of solace & safety for our satsang (spiritual community) that is fun, loving, and an environment where one can continue to thrive & grow.

We look forward to seeing you there!
Meet the Sangha

Charlene Peeples
Owner / Founder & Yoga Teacher
I’m a native of the Northeast Georgia Mountains and have been practicing yoga for 18 years. My teaching style is functional-based, prioritizing how poses work for each body over aesthetic or rigid alignment. I value curiosity, diverse perspectives, and lifelong learning.

I completed my first 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Energy School on Yonah Mountain in 2017 and immediately co-facilitated another 200-Hour training in Aegina, Greece, where I earned my second certification. I’m certified in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, Ayurveda, Pranayama, Meditation, and Yin Yoga (50 hours with Bernie Clark), as well as Y12SR, a relapse prevention and addiction recovery program.

Alongside yoga, I have a deep interest in death and dying. I’ve studied with Cole Imperi at the School of American Thanatology and am a Death Companioning Initiate, blending skills from chaplaincy, grief theory, and death education. I’ve also trained with Bodhi Be in Death & Dying studies as preparation for a future Death Doula certification.

Meghann Brackett
Kundalini Yoga Teacher
I began my true Yoga journey in 2017. It first began as a physical practice that turned much deeper….a spiritual way of life. Particularly Kundalini Yoga practices spoke to my heart when introduced by teachers Tommy Rosen and Kia Miller. Never had I experienced a practice that could expand my consciousness to the Divine and access to my True Self in such a short period of time.
After practicing Kundalini for a few years, it led me to want to share this beautiful experience with my community. I got my 200-HR RBY Teacher Training Certificate thru Kia Miller the founder and director of Radiant Body Yoga. This practice has it’s roots in ancient Kundalini and Tantric traditions which include a combination of asana, kriya (specific sequences), breath, meditation, mantra, relaxation, and contemplation.
I am excited to share RBY which is designed to move you through stagnant energy, elevate your frequency and awaken a greater state of connection and consciousness.

Susan Guglielmo
Yoga Teacher
I started my yoga journey in 2000 receiving my first 200 hr Teachers Training certification in the Sivananda Lineage. Inspired to learn more I traveled to California to study under Shiva Rae and participate in her 200 hr Summer Immersion Program. This was life changing and forever influenced my style of teaching yoga.
I continued studying Anatomy and Alignment and received my third certification from Yoga South. In 2013 I received my 500hr TT certificate at Yoga Journey where my mentor Leslie Glickman brought out in me how to teach from my heart. In 2015 I opened and became Co-owne r of PS Yoga Studios where I currently teach online classes.
I am blessed to have had so many amazing teachers influence my life and leave their imprint on my heart.

Christie Gann
Pilates & Yoga Teacher
I was born & raised in South Georgia & have been in the North Georgia area for almost 30 years, most recently locating to Cleveland Ga. Growing up, I've always love to create & pursue & explore a variety of artistic methods and athletic endeavors including dance, gymnastics.
Pilates and Yoga have been a part of my personal practice for over 18 years. What began as a practice at home; evolved into creating a passionate desire to further my education to become certified in both practices. My passion has been to greatest space for others to feel safe, welcomed, free to express themselves through movement on and off the mat. Helping others to create a knowledge of body awareness, integrating breath to movement, core strength, flexibility, stabilization & move with intention for our overall functional fitness that enhances our everyday life.
When i'm not practicing or teaching; I enjoy spending time with my family & grandchildren, gardening, hiking, painting & reading. I count it as one of my most treasured blessings to inspire my students and clients to continue mastering the technique for their own personal growth and achievement through pilates and yoga. I look forward to meeting you on the mat!

Spencer Turk
Yoga Teacher | Reiki Master | Holistic Health Coach
Hi, I’m Spencer, a passionate yoga instructor, holistic health coach, and entrepreneur dedicated to serving my community. I help people find empowerment and healing through cultivating a deeper connection with themselves, their community, and nature.

Yoga began as a physical practice for me after many years as a gymnast, but it has since evolved into a lifestyle and a deeply healing journey. In 2021, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in the Shambhavananda lineage, and I’m honored to share the wisdom of this practice with others. Through mindful movement and breathing, I love guiding people to slow down and reconnect with their bodies and breath. My classes weave together yoga philosophy, alignment, meditation, pranayama, and intuition to create a thoughtful and empowering experience.
I welcome students of all abilities, body types, and experience levels to join me on the mat.

Beyond yoga, I’m a holistic health coach and recently became Reiki Level 1 certified. I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, dancing, traveling, and spending time with my fiancé and family in Tallulah Falls, where I help run my family’s business, Tallulah Adventures. Supporting others in their wellness journeys, whether through yoga or other modalities, is at the heart of what I do. I’m so excited to join the yoga community in Sautee and can’t wait to practice with you!
