More Than a Yoga Studio
Yonah Yoga is your quintessential grassroots yoga studio nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Whether you are looking for a relaxing class, a challenging workout, or a way to advance your practice, Yonah Yoga's intention is to offer whatever your preference may be at any given time in your life.
Yonah Yoga is a healing arts studio that offers harmonious therapies of yoga, massage, meditation, amongst other healing & holistic services. Alternative & holistic approaches of healing are becoming a preferred method of targeting ailments in the body, mind, and spirit. Holistic and Healing Arts integrates many types of treatment, healing the entire body rather than attacking symptoms alone.
The symbiotic relationship between yoga and therapeutic massage alone helps to increase cardio & circulatory health, improve mobility, boost immune function, relieve stress, improved respiration, increase in energy & vitality, amongst many other benefits. Our main goal is to provide you with a pleasant and relaxed space to discharge, to strengthen your connection with your body, and to enhance your relationship with your physical and mental well-being.
ALL ARE WELCOME.
Yonah Yoga was founded in August 2017 as a local pop-up yoga studio by Charlene Hammersen. After leaving her high-demanding & fast-paced business in Midtown Atlanta, she decided to redirect her path by moving back up to the Northeast Georgia mountains and bringing yoga to her local area. Local businesses opened their doors to Charlene, as she cultivated the studio from the ground up. Gradually & steadily the local community showed up time & time again. Their active participation & support promoted Charlene to open a brick & mortar nestled in the beautiful Sautee Nacoochee Valley. Since then, the local yoga community has grown into an authentic & close circle. As you walk into the studio, you are greeted with love and met with a group of active yoga practitioners sharing their lives with another before we move through a yoga sequence together.
Yonah Yoga is more than a studio.. It's a community of friends who are on different paths to the same place. We get to share this experience with one another each time that we show up. We hope that you'll come to explore this unique experience and to bring your uniqueness, too!

Yoga Teacher | Health Coach
Haylee is a lover of all things yoga, wellness, and spirituality. Her passion for yoga started early on in college when she began taking yoga classes to reduce stress from her demanding major as an actor/dancer. After completely falling in love with this beautiful dance of breath and movement, she completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Guruv Yoga in Orlando, Florida in 2013. Afterwards, she completed her 300 hour yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia in 2014. Since then, she has been teaching classes around the US, all the while continuing to learn and grow as both a teacher and a student of yoga. In addition, she has also spent the past several years diving deeply into health, wellness and spirtituality, which led her to become a Certified Health Coach through Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2015.
Off the (teaching) mat, you can typically find Haylee taking a yoga class (she can't get enough), cooking up a healthy meal (or just eating in general- total foodie!), spending time outdoors and of course, soaking up the knowledge of all things yoga, health, wellness, and spirituality.
Diane is a wife and mother of 2 girls. Originally from Maryland, her husband’s job, at the time, brought them to Sautee 16 ½ years ago and they've been in love with the North Georgia Mountains ever since! In her earlier years, she was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and could often be found sitting behind her coach rubbing their shoulders. It was then that she knew that she wanted to be a massage therapist. When their girls were both school age and growing in independence she decided it was time for her to finish what she had started. So, she went back to school to become a massage therapist, making use of her previously earned
Kinesiology Degree from the University of Maryland.
She is now a Georgia Licensed Massage Therapist. She specializes in a variety of therapeutic massage techniques for relaxation and helping you deal with the stress, aches and pains of everyday life. She truly loves what she does and is grateful for the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
Nat King Cole sang that you “Straighten Up & Fly Right,” so does Feldenkrais. Gyan Golden was born in Frankfurt, Germany where she completed a University degree (Dipl. Paed.)
equivalent to a Masters Degree in Special Education in the United States. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1984 and completed a four month course in ReBalancing: bringing body, mind,
and spirit into harmony. It was during this training that she was introduced to the Feldenkrais
Method, a practice that teaches people to integrate body movements to function with less effort and pain. In 2006 she enrolled in a four year program for the teaching and practicing
the Feldenkrais Method in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed it in 2010. She has been teaching Awareness Through Movement (ATM) classes since 2010. Gyan is also a massage therapist.
